Just a quick post to show everyone the pictures of the new basket weaving, chair caning & art studio.
Not much to look at yet, just now getting things set up and placed around. In the coming months there will be some additions of walls made of luan doors, which will better define the different areas of the studio vs. the gallery section inside the door.
Thanks to my good friend Hugh Blaire, in Kentucky that sent me this nice Kodak Easy Share Camera which took these pictures this afternoon. What a nice gift, many Thanks Hugh!!
I will apologize now for the glare on the pictures, I still have to get used to the new camera and the lighting in the studio.
The studio is located at
Rockfish Valley Community Center
190 Rockfish School Lane
Afton, Virginia 22920
My studio is located in Room 11
There will be many more pictures to come,, however Starbucks is going to throw me out if I don’t hit the publish button soon.
These are cards from my last days at the Nelson Farmers Market, just down the road from the Community Center that I unpacked and set around to fill in today.

Alas, Utham, That studio is history, the bizarre bohemian lifestyle I was put into took it away from me one year after I got it. Indeed it was a great space, to date and as of now there is no studio to work in only a 10×12 ft room.
However I want to thank your for your uplifting words and kind thoughts and well wishes, perhaps one day I will get back to a studio space with workable sq footage.
Take care and be well my dear friend, and thanks so much for your uplifting comments. they are truly appreciated. 🙂

Hi Karen,
I tell you Karen, this has been one huge stressful year for me, you just would never believe. I am so happy to now have this sanctuary that I call my studio, to escape from my living situation and just immerse myself in my art work. Kind of like “Alone with God the World Forbidden” Thanks for the wonderful comment!

Hi Cathryn, I too will be so glad to see how it all unfolds as well. I cannot tell you how nice it is to finally have space and room to work in, now just getting it all over there, it will take the entire month of Dec. perhaps part of Jan, to get all over and set up.

Good Morning Dyan,
Many Thanks for your kind words. indeed it is a place to spread out and weave new baskets and other art work. The best thing about this space aside from room is the natural light! as well as the hot water heat (never cold again)! 🙂

So glad you are finally in a studio again. And this one will be warmer and brighter than the one in Bridgewater. You will have this studio filled up before you know it. Can’t wait for you to be up and running with all your items displayed. Those are some windows. Lots of light for you. GO, Mitch, GO !!!
