WHERE ARE ALL THE HOLIDAY POSTS?
Well I am sure everyone is asking where all the holiday recipes and posts have gone!
That is a very good question, my holidays I usually bake and cook for gift giving, usually the holiday itself if very quiet for me, never having married, no children, my family is with their families and I am usually at home alone, so I have learned over the years to make my own fun at home.
I bake and cook, work on baskets and design new ones over the two holidays and of course post to the blog, however this year is different, something has been going on every week between the two holidays.
I was sitting here waiting for two loaves of Wheat Bread to rise, thinking about the blog, and also looking at the stats for the blog, and seeing all the searches coming from Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, all of which countries of have quite a few subscribers and followers.
I am curious what your baking and cooking traditions are and what you look forward to doing over the Christmas holiday. If you find time during all the business of the season to post a comment or send an email please do, I am always looking at recipes from other countries. Please feel free to share. you can also email me at mcw1961@gmail.com.
I hope everyone has a Blessed Holiday Season and “Remember the Reason For the Season”

Up here in the mountains of NC, which might as well be on a foreign continent it’s so quiet and rural, I make French Buche de Noel/Yule Log, for my good friend and dance partner, who is half-French, half-Italian. It’s becoming an annual tradition for his family Christmas dinner, which is Italian– lasagna, salad, rolls, and wine. I take it to the dinner at his house, and serve it along with the apple pie. Each year, i use a different recipe. There are some in my cookbooks and you can find recipes online. The meringue mushrooms take the most time. I make a double batch for those with a sweet tooth who like extras.
I hope you had a peaceful and contented Christmas, waiting for word on you new home/studio. And maybe a move to a new area. Gotta be take a breath time!!!!

I love having Christmas alone. I have done this for so many years it is a tradition! Mostly I am somewhere exotic but this year I was at home. Vegged out all day and relaxed. So nice. Hope you had a nice Christmas. Congrats on your new home!

I would so love to share our Christmas Day with you – just me and my parents with me doing all the cooking. I just love treating my folks by cooking for them and I’m sure you and I would have such fun time cooking together and talking about food, recipes, life, The Universe and everything.
I will send you details of various “Christmas downunder in Summertime” foods and favourites. I know that this year I will be cooking a boned out leg of Spring lamb – it is sitting in my folks’ freezer just waiting for me!
I’ve been blogging again after a five month break. Sending you care, huggles and love, fellow singleton Michelle xxx

I’m having a huge (to me) family dinner… Roast turkey and ham. Taking the next week to straighten out the house for possible unexpected guests. The one thing I will be doing is trying to have a stress free Christmas! Thanks for all the neat blog posts you have – they do inspire us!
