At last Spring has broken and you can see the voices of Spring, heralding in the season. For me since I love gardening and flowers, flowers are the voices of spring.

Everyday there are new voices singing the songs of spring, from the ground to the trees. Everywhere you look there are things to make you smile and have a good day.

These are some pictures that I took this week.

A view of the river at Rawley Springs, Va, after heavy spring rains, this picture was taken after the river had a couple days to recede a bit. This river is usually dry during the summer months, unless there are heavy rains.

I have a wonderful friend in Wellington City, Wellington New Zealand. We have never met, but we correspond via email and reading each others blogs.

What I like about Michelle’s blog is it give me a glimpse into a part of the world that I will probably never get to see in person. A glimpse from and ordinary person like myself. Michelle has articles, recipes, and pictures of life in her part of New Zealand. also wonderful pictures of her dear cat “Zebby”

What I like about Michelle’s blog is that it comes from an ordinary person. sure I could go online and Google New Zealand and come up with all sorts of information, however I have always had an interest about life in other countries, seen by ordinary people and their lives. I like this about her blog.

The photo above is from Michelle’s blog, beautiful plants that I will never see in person, her blog shows their container gardens and what you can grow in containers, has inspired me to plant a small vegetable garden in several of my containers, I usually plant only flowers, however after reading her posts and looking at the wonderful pictures she has taken I am now going to try vegetables.

I hope that you too will visit Michelle’s blog “Mickle’s Pickle” and please if you see something on her blog please leave a comment, she would appreciate that, as we bloggers usually try to write posts based on what our readers are interested in.

You can also find the link to Michelle’s Blog, on the right hand column under Blog Roll.

Below are several pictures that you will find from posts on Michelle’s blog.

imageThe past couple of days, being able to open windows and doors, at last. Make me think of freedom, feeling the breeze through the apartment, and sunshine coming in all around. These things just make you feel like a new day is dawning and now each and every day we will look in the yards and gardens to see what new flowers of bursting for to bring us joy.

I am so glad that Spring really seems to be here. The long cold days of being confined to the apartment due to constant cold. this weather is just so nice, it starts to put you into a much better state of wellbeing

This picture was taken from my dear friends blog (with permission) Karyn Bennett. “Lizzy Lane Farm”

This picture and the rains from a couple of days ago made me think of this poem by W L Stidger, Titled    “RAIN”

RAIN

I saw God wash the world last night

With His sweet shower on High,

And then when morning came

I saw Him hang it out to dry

He washed each tiny blade of grass,

    And every trembling tree.

He flung His shower against the hills

    And swept the billowing sea.

The white rose is a sweeter sight,

    The red rose more red,

Since God washed every fragrant face

And put them all to bed

There’s not a bird, there’s not a bee

    That wings along its way

But that is a cleaner bird or bee than it was

    yesterday.

I saw God wash the world last night.

Ah! would he had washed me

As clean of all my dust and dirt

    As that white birch-bark tree

Autumn, blooms, Fall, flowers, Geraniums

Well it is only anyone’s guess about whether Summer is Coming to an End or not, all I can say is that I hope that Winter does not come early or stay long! I sincerely hope that we do not have a winter anything like last winter.

Not knowing how long the flowers outside my back door will last, I thought I had better take some pictures now, however if they last a couple months longer I will take some others and post them again. The colors already look brighter since the weather is cooler.

The little yellow Viola was a welcome surprise!! He is a volunteer to the collection, he will bloom his little heart out all winter long.
